Beulah goes Camping

For many years an open group from Beulah have been camping for a weekend each summer. A mixture of families, couples and individuals have found it an enjoyable way to build friendships and explore new areas. Campsites chosen have good amenities, showers, washing up stations and toilets, and we have usually found equipment can be loaned for those new to camping.

We have camped in the Gower, Mwnt, Pembrey Sands and most recently Symonds Yat. Traditionally, Friday night we enjoy a bring and share meal as people relax after setting up camp. Jobs and provisions are shared out, including cooked breakfasts, sandwich making and a Saturday night takeaway fish and chips.

The aim is to relax, so the pace is slow. Saturday we usually spend time on the beach, or walking to local landmarks, followed by a games evening in the communal tent. Sunday after packing up we have enjoyed the delights of Pembrey’s toboggan run, and last time Goodrich Castle.
